FAQWhen will the fall season begin and end?

The regular fall season will begin the Saturday after Labor Day and continue through the third weekend in November. The League Cup tournament will take place during the first two or three Saturdays in December.

When will matches be played?

Matches will be played each Saturday during the regular season with an occasional bye if the bracket has an odd number of teams. Tournament play will take place after Thanksgiving.

How far will my team be required to travel?

Most regular season matches and ESL tournaments will be held in central locations between San Clemente and Lake Forest. Optional tournament play will be up to each team to decide when and where they want to play.

Where do ESL coaches come from?

Parent coaches are selected based on experience and willingness to complete National coach training requirements. Each coach will be required to obtain an "E" license from CalSouth (the USSF governing body for Southern California). If you are interested in applying to be a coach, please submit an online coaching application. Shortly after the application is received a member of the Elite Soccer League staff will contact you.

Where do ESL referees come from?

ESL uses a local referee association with professional USSF certified referees.

Who can sign up to play in the Elite Soccer League?

Any player who wishes to play can sign up for a player evaluation online by filling out a player evaluation request form. The purpose of Elite Soccer League is to give skilled players a chance to play in a competitive environment. Players will be chosen based on perceived skill level and future development potential. To request additional information with regard to signing up for the league, please visit the contact us section of this website.

What if my child is already signed up for another league?

Most leagues will provide a full refund for players who decide they have found a better fit for their player elsewhere. Any money not refunded by individual leagues may be deducted from the first season's ESL player dues.
