A summary of the 2010 winter program is as follows:
| Age Groups: | Boys and Girls U5-U14 (ages 4 and up) |
| Game dates: | Saturdays, January 9, 2010 through February 27, 2010 |
| Where: | Various locations throughout Southern Orange County |
| Player cost: | $85 per player (Head Coach's son/daughter plays free) |
| Registration: | Deadline is December 21st. Teams and players registering after this date will be added only as spots become available |
| Format: | 5v5 "tournament style", 20 minute halves, small sided field, no goalies |
| Competition: | Guaranteed 8 games |
| Flexibility: | Teams who are willing to have some double header Saturdays are allowed up to two blackout dates to help accommodate other winter activities |
| Choice: | Players and coaches area allowed to pick their own teams. ESL will fill the gaps, if any, with individual player sign ups |
According to the winter soccer program director, "the beauty of this program is that it allows players who have enjoyed playing together during the fall to continue together into January and February. At the same time, it allows players who did not have a positive experience in the fall to join a new team and get a fresh start."
Coaches are allowed to pick up to eight players for their team. If a coach does not have enough players to fill a team, individual players on the waitlist will be assigned to fill the gaps. Those who step up to coach will not have to pay for their son or daughter to play.
